The Mint Julep

Kentucky's and Charleston's drink of choice.
Mint Syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 bunch fresh mint sprigs
Add: Crushed ice 2 tablespoons mint syrup 2 tablespoons water 3 ounces bourbon Crush a few mint leaves in the bottom of an 8 ounce glass; crush mint with a spoon. Then fill glass with crushed ice. Add mint syrup, water, and burbon. Stir until glass is frosted. Garnish with a fresh sprig of mint and serve.
